COMBINATION COVERT/OVERT

For high risk loads, the best arrangement is to escort with an overt vehicle, a covert vehicle maintaining
a constant close contact observation (within a half mile of the load - maintained by radio contact) and a
motorcycle outrider which can be used to ‘buzz’ about the convoy, clearing junctions, intersections and
roundabouts before the load arrives and seeing it safely through.

This combination of manpower, vehicles and the associated GPS tracking, CCTV, Police liaison and radio
and telecoms equipment is used when the load value and the risk assessments are considered extreme.
